In a previous article I criticized Wheaton College for asserting it remains committed to historic Christian faith and practice while also doing things that bring such claims into question (e.g., employing women who are ordained as ministers as professors of theology).
Great points Tom. I appreciate your Christian scholarship and bringing everything back to scripture. I fear that most Christian universities are facing these same problems, especially as the government and the Department of Education bring lawsuits against them. However, blind compliance to sinful social norms cannot be the right answer. Hopefully Wheaton will seek to return to Christ and practice what God's Word says, but time will tell
A fine attitude. As we are commanded to love our neighbors (Mk. 12:31), and as "love hopes all things" (1 Cor. 13:7), I think we should all be hopeful that Wheaton abides in the truth in all matters, and maintain a cautious, patient optimism that this will yet be the case.
